WHY IS MOLD A PROBLEM?

  • MOLD CAN MAKE YOU SICK

We have talked with many homeowners that have had mold in their homes. Some were forced to leave their homes due to respiratory and nervous system problems that are commonly associated with Mold contamination. This occurs when molds release endotoxins to fight off other living organisms in the environment. These endotoxins can cause serious illness among infants, elderly, people with respiratory problems and people who may have allergic reactions. Mold types that are common from water damages are Aspergillus and Penicillium which could be deadly to persons that are allergic to penicillin. And of course there is Stachybotrys with is also call “Black Mold” but too much of any kind of mood could have an impact on your health.

  • MOLD WILL DESTROY YOUR HOME

If moisture content over 15% exists within your walls or attic, Mold will grow and continue to eat away drywall, insulation and even the studs within your walls (as seen below) Mold loves to feed on drywall in particular. The first step in detecting Mold is to perform a moisture inspection on your drywall and wood from the inside of your building.

HOW CAN YOU FIND MOLD IN MY HOME?

  • MOISTURE INSPECTIONS

First we will perform a thorough moisture inspection to determine where you may have moisture in your wall, insulation and attic. We use thermal imaging cameras as well as moisture meters to tell us where mold is likely to be growing.

  • MOLD SPARE SAMPLING TEST

While this test isn’t the best way to detect Mold, it is an indicator of the types of Mold and the amount of Mold spores you have in your home. The Mold Spore sampling test may be done in certain situations.
